TEXT: The universe is God’s garden for growing your Soul, and your own life is a subplot wherein He gives you the divine opportunity to follow Him in miniature, to become creator, upholder and god to your inner spaces. The law of your inner life is: you will reap there what you sow. The beliefs and ideas you persistently hold perpetuate the continuum you are. Change what you feed your mind and you help change the mind you feed. Constantly then, nurture your Soul with the thoughts of God; cultivate your divinity, weed out your pettiness; feed your dreams, starve your fears; fan your hopes, quench your doubts. Rejoice in whatever outer circumstances, good or bad, the waters of life bring you as bread on a wave. Do not foolishly attempt to force the universe to fit your private expectations. God knows your needs better than you do; accept His wisdom and reject your own. Refuse to submit to the sophistry of self, even unto denying it, and waste not a moment defending or protecting it from others. Care not what personal advantages it costs to remain open-hearted, compassionate and vulnerable to love. Refuse to add one passing instance of unkindness to the world’s sum. Every day extend a little more love, even when it isn’t earned; forgive what appears unforgivable; tolerate a little longer what seems intolerable; be a little more pleasant even when you don’t feel like it. Let your private mercy affect and outweigh your sense of justice. Count not one second lost or unredeemed in loving another. God has given you His heart for no other reason than to love the world though it may reject and crucify you. Recognize the embrace of others as God’s love lent to you through their arms. Give thanks each day for His friends who love you truly. Though you may perceive little present strength to live a godly life, never reject it as your standard, for you were born in heaven and it is your native state. Allow your ignorance and weakness to reveal themselves as your unique path back to God. Accept that there is much you have yet to learn; don’t hold your possible future self hostage by your present understanding. Be open toward the mysterious, mystical and unknown, for it is your future wisdom walking toward you. See beneath the surface of things. Adore all the seeming disguises of truth, but love its essence more than its forms. Notice what is more beautiful than yourself and accept and be glad in it. Consider yourself sovereign to enjoy an original relation to God without mediators. Follow the light, not the shadows of others following the light. Realize your need as His child, to know your Heavenly Father for yourself. Never hesitate to ask God for a hug when you need it, then step back from your mortal mind and observe with awe, God loving you from inside your own skin. Allow heaven its gravity. Sit still and feel God reaching up through you, grabbing the universe and inverting it into your heart. Let His love use your arms to embrace all mankind and every creature with kindness and compassion. Surrender the ego and allow God His presence in your Sou as He patiently grows you in His heart.
